I made a few cards yesterday inspired by a few different challenges.
The first two cards are being entered into following:-
The first card was made using an embossing folder which I then coloured using some gilding polish.

I really liked the background so didn’t want to add too much else. I cut the ‘love’ sentiment out and used the gilding polish on that. To make it stand out I put three strips of black card down first. I stamped and die cut the flower and finished off the small part of the sentiment with embossing powder. I finally added a pink sequin to the centre of the flour.

The next card will also be entered into The Card Concept challenge which has the following picture as inspiration

I took the rainbow colours from this and created this card:-

I used the new Faceted Heart die from Tim Holtz to make the 3D-effect hearts in some rainbow-coloured paper. I decided to do the whole background in paper from the same pad and stuck the hearts on red card to make them stand out. I cut out the sentiment and stuck on. I did put wink of stella on the hearts and sentiment but it doesn’t show in the photos…

The last card I made is going to be entered into Allsorts ‘Make it Masculine’ challenge.

I just got this ‘hole’ effect die which makes it look like you’ve smashed a hole in your card. I cut out the hole from a white piece of card and used a black base card. I then used a stencil for the wall effect which I coloured using distress ink in fired brick.
I stamped and die cut the alien from Lawn Fawn and coloured him using Promarkers. He got stuck in the ‘hole’ behind the card as though he’s coming through.

Before I stuck him down, I used my Nuvo embossing pen on his eyes and used glow-in-the-dark embossing powder. I added the sentiment from the same Lawn Fawn set (it did bug me that ‘favourite’ is spelled the US way but what can you do?!) and I just used distress ink on the outside of the sentiment to make it fit in more. I added black strip to the bottom for a bit of interest.
I love this turned out and that it glows in the dark!

So that was the three cards I made yesterday. I’ve started on some others – it was a good day for me 🙂
Thanks for looking!
