For this card as it was going to be Clean & Simple I decided I didn’t want to take long on it. I mean, that’s the point…
So I picked the nearest coloured panel I could find which was some kraft cardstock (I seem to be using that a lot lately) and then picked up the nearest stamp I had (which was a new purchase from Craftstash waiting to be organised into a wallet with a label!) and I used Altenew Obsidian pignent ink to stamp this to my card panel. I brushed my card with anti-static powder and then used my new stamp platform (which I’m MADE-UP with because it’s so much easier to use than my Tim Holtz one which I will be eBaying at the next convenient time)
Anyway, as I said, I used the above stamping platform to make sure I got a decent image, then I heat embossed with some clear embossing powder. Since this is going to be pretty basic to do, a bit of embossing powder makes me feel like I’ve done something more difficult…
I then decided I didn’t want to use a lot of time colouring the flowers in, so that ruled out markers or watercolouring (neither would show up very well on the kraft colour and watercolouring would also ruin the card not meant for watercolours.)
I decided to use distress oxides but instead of attempting to brush them on neatly (with one of those ridiculously tiny blending brushes you get) I used sponge daubers (the finger kind) and didn’t worry too much about being within the lines – as long as the leaves were mainly green and the flowers mainly pink then I was fine with it. It was kind of the look I wanted.

I then decided to add another easy step which was to spritz the panel with some shimmer spray. For this, I have a little spritzer where I just put water and perfect pearls in ‘pearl’ in and give it a shake. I use this when I want a bit of a subtle shimmer on a card – I expect the more perfect pearls you put in, the more shimmery it gets? Anyway, once it’s dry it doesn’t budge so I recommend it if you don’t want to pay a fortune for a bottle! Once this was dry (a minute or so) I trimmed down my panel to 4″ x 5.25″.

I then made a sentiment strip cut from a small die out of the Mama Elephant ‘sew fancy’ die set using the same kraft cardstock. I chose a sentiment and stamped onto the strip using the same Altenew ink, which I again heat set with clear embossing powder.
“Lots of Love” was my choice
I taped my card panel to a plain white card base measuring 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then I stuck the sentiment onto the card with foam squares.
You could probably add some sequins on if you liked but the shimmer of the card (which the camera doesn’t pick up very well!) I thought was enough to keep it clean and simple.
